Would you prefer to live in the city or in the country? Why?

I would like to live in the city of Boston. I think it is a nice small city. Also, it holds the best university in the U.S., Harvard. The city is a good place to live because you get to meet your neighbor.
If I had a choice on where to live, it would have to be in the city. Without a doubt, while the country is peaceful and quiet, the city is fun and exciting. Places to go,things to se, the city is the place to be.
If I had a choice, I would like to live in the city than the country. I would like to live in the city because the city always contain fun things, and it will be easy if I want to go shopping or go anywhere.
I would like to live in the city because there is technology and I need to be around lots of people. In the country its really quiet, and if perhaps you are in the process of being kidnapped there will no one around to hear your screams. I need to be around people so I can ensure my safety! Thats why I prefer the city.
War has affected the brothers because now they have seen death. So, they are no longer innocent, and going back to that same home is not satisfying to their thirst. Now, they have an urge to be free and not "trapped" in that little space.
I wolud like to live in the city because it is full of people that you can talk to. You could stop and drink some coffee and have a nice conversation with one of you friends, unlike in the country it is all rural and there is no where you can stop to relax with your friends, because you all live far away.
I agree with you because I also think that everybody lives too far away from each other and won't be able to hang out. Also because when everybody lives too far away from each other it is hard for people to get help because of that same reason
If I had a choice, I would rather live in the city. All the things I like to do are in the city: bookstores, theaters, and malls. It would be very difficult to go were I want to go. It would also be inconvenient if because I would want to get a job in the city.

You could stop and drink some coffee and have a nice conversation with one of you friends, unlike in the country it is all rural and there is no where you can stop to relax with your friends, because you all live far away.
I would rather live in the city because of various reasons. One reason is in the city you have a lot of civilization. By this I mean in the city there are malls, movies, etc. You have plenty of things you can do unlike the country. The country is nice too except there are an extreme amount of bugs. So in that case I would prefer to live in the city!
I totally agee with you because Im really a material girl and I love to go out to places and have fun and in the country you can't do that.
I would rather live in the city because it's more convenient for me and plus, I'm used to it, too. The country has only grassland, and animals and that's it. The city, on the other hand, has malls, buildings, cars, amusement parks, and more! Also the city has technology. I don't know what I would do without it.
People who live in the country have to struggle to live. Everything they have is made from natural resources. They made it themselves from everything they have. The city has industries and factories which are a big part of why we have what we have.
Also, there's more excitement in the city. There's celebrities, the media, television, and much more! The country don't know the world. They don't live an exciting life, they haven't been out and seen it. I know I would want to see the world. It's what keeps me going.
I disagree with Ariana. She says that there is only grassland and animals in the country, but there's more to it. There is technology in the country. There are cars, TV's, and shopping centers. And people in the country don't make their stuff out of the things they have. Actually, they have the same facilities we do. They don't knit their own clothes like Ariana implies. They don't have to grow their own food. They are just regular people like we are, and they know just as much about the world as we do. They are not ignorant. And the way she wrote it, saying "they have to struggle in life" makes it seem like they're digging every hole and filling it with seeds. However, technology has made it easier, and tractors are a now more efficient. The industries and factories are part of what I DON'T like about the cities. They pollute our air, and tend to pay minimum wages.
If I could choose where to live, I would choose to live in Monterrey, Mexico. This place is great. It is full of businesses, rich neighborhoods, and lots of fun attractions. I really enjoy being around all of these things and I wouldn't mind living there for the rest of my life.
The war had effected the brothers in many ways. Before they left they wanted to help their dad dreamms come true but now they are just worried about money and women and getting drunk. They are only concerd for themselfs and no one else.It made them selfish and rebels to what they were suppose to do.
I would prefer to live in the urban neighborhood better. The advantages of a urban area is mainly easy access to safety and conveniences. For example, pizza will get to your door faster than an ambulance, just kidding. If there were to have a critical event emergency assistant will get to your faster. If your electricity goes out, the electricity company can get to you faster in urban area than rural. Although urban area have more advantages but there will be more commotions, traffic, and accidents involving fatal injuries will be taking place. One of the main reason of living in the urban area to me is the scenic views. I love scenic views. Like Los Angeles, California in the Silver Lake Reservoir neighborhood the scenic view of the lake is extravagantly beautiful in views and values. The population of this area is so high that rush hour occupies the freeway 75% of the time. Very hard to get to places in time and very time consuming. Living in crowded areas and scenic places will attracts us as humans where urban places happens to have.
Well first off let me start by saying i love the country seeing how its nice, quiet and peaceful. living there is another story on the other hand. Im more of a city person, theres more of a variety of places to go. Your surroundings are much more vivid.
I would live in the city if I had to choose between the country or the city. The city has so many different places and things to see and do. I cant see myself living somewhere with no movie theater or cell phone service. I cant live without technology. I hate being outside. I would do anything to avoid the sun.
I agree with this persons' response. I also couldn't see myself living without technology and places like the mall, AMC 30, Walmart and many other places.
Daniel Gutierrez (Period.1)
Would I rather live in the city or out on the country? That would be an easy choice for I would any day take living in the city than out on the country side. Living out on the country is not just for me the quite, under populated environment, with few to non tourist attractions is just not my kind of way of living my life. My Life has to be surrounded with attractions just like in the city you have the lights, the skyscrapers, the clubs the theaters and skate parks and so on. My life has to be surrounded by people, people who aren’t quite people who enjoy the city life and its surroundings. So the city life as all in my favor don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to insult in any way the country. I respect those who choose the country life and enjoy the wilderness and their occupations out in the country.
I would rather live in the city because I could not deal with being away from society. In the city there are people, places and things that you could not find in the country. In the city you have to interact with people in order to survive and in the country your best friends are also your food! In the city there are stores and parks, places to gather. The country would be good if I liked mother nature and animals. The thing is that I don't like mother nature or animals, and can you imagine how many spiders there would be? I would rather deal with stray cats and dogs than, stray horses and cows!
I think the city it would have better advatages because you are able to do more. In the country it would be quiet, peaceful, and calm.
I would prefer living in the city because all the resources you need will be close by. But when you live in the country you will have a lot of fresh air, instead of living in a city with polluted air. the crime in the city could also be a problem but if you carry a gun that wont be such a dilemma. if you live in the country you would have to drive long distances in order to get to the place you need.
If I had to chose between the city and the country I would have to pick the city. I would pick the city because there would always be something going on. I would never be bored. I think if I lived in the country for too long, I would get really bored very quick.
Oh Rachel you're silly (: but I absolutly agree with you because for real the country is BORING!!!
Rachel, the country isn't boring. I think it's fun, and besides you can do more things that you can't get away with in the city.
I would rather live in the country than in the city. In the country there is less air pollution from cars and trains, this will lessen ones chance of contracting a respiratory problem. Living in the country whould also lessen stressors that are experienced everyday in the city, for example traffic, and the noise, these stressors may cause chronic stress in the future. Living in the country will also give you the chance to appreciate the small things that nature can give that are usually taken for granted in the city. The usual city is dotted with fast food resturants that are bad for the body, but in the country the fast food resturants are at a minimum, so you live a healthier life in the country, this may add years to your life time. The lack of the noise and pressure of the city can help calm the mind and help with life happiness.
I see what your saying and you are right we would have less stress, less polution we would all be better. ^_^
All your reasons for living in the country are the reasons why I would go to the country for a vacations. I would stay there for 3 to 4 months, but after that I would have to return to the city. Yes, it's surrounded by fast food restaurants and other unhealthy things, but the city has some positive things too. Honestly, I just can't imagine spending my whole life in the country.
True, vary true there seems to be no traffic in the country but it's not like time just swoops by. Honestly I think that the stuff you appreciate depend on how you were raised and mainly on your own perspective. Also a person's diet and lifestyle is up to them. Yes there are many ignorant people but I am sure they can tell that two cheeseburgers (happy meals, or whatever it may be) everyday can't be healthy for you.Life is borrowed, you can do the best to live healthy and safe but the truth is that life is like a delicate string that can be cut at any time.Just how exactly do you know when you gained "life happiness", you can't really know until you already lived. Whether you gain hold of that happiness or not is not up to where you are but with whom you are. All you can do is just enjoy life, we are pieces in a game of chess so the most we can do is learn from it until the game is over.
I would like to live in the city because the city has a lot more technology involved than the country. Besides, it is the year 2007. We, as city people, do not use plows as much as we did in the 1500's.
If I had a choice I would live in the country. I would not want a place too crowded but not too lonely either. I would like to have a big house, and a lot of land. I would like the country because it is peaceful, and calm. Also because it is very beautiful. I really would not mind living in the city, because there are many benefits, but if I had to choose i would rather live in the country.
Everyone has their own opinion, but personally, I would like to live in the city. I think that life in the city is much better bacause there is more places to visit, and you can just get to interact better with people. It is also busier and its just what i would rather.
If I had to choose living in the country or living in the city I would choose both. To me I would like to have a home here in the city and out in the country. For me the city brings adventures and etc. but the country can also bring other things that the city can't. For example, out in the country you can see the stars if you lay down on the grass, but compared to the city you might have trouble seeing them. To me if i had to choose one it would be hard since I would like to live in both city and in country.
Good response Cindy by describing an example why would you live in the city.
I would live in the city because it has so many places we could go to. I'm a person who loves stores and many other places but I would live in the country too because it is calm and peaceful. The disadvantages of living in the country is that they don't have many places to go to and not so many hospitals so that's why I would live in the city.
I don't know I love the country because it would be nice to live somewhere where it's not too crowded. Where it is peaceful and quite. I also love the city because it has technology and there's different places I could go to and all the things I could do. So I don't know.
I would rather live in the country. The air is more clear in the country and I would be able to breathe easier. Also, the sky is a lot clearer at night so I would be able to see a lot of stars. It's also very peaceful and there is not a lot of shootings and things like that. In the country there is also a lot of room to run around and the scenery is very beautiful. Those are some reasons that I would want to live in the country.
Honestly, I don't think most of us could switch our minds to the country immediately. We've lived in a city for long periods of time, for most of us, and the country isn't always as safe as you'd think... Who knows? In the city there's alot of people other than you that can get kidnapped or murdered and such.
I agree with you I would rather live in the city.
I would like to live in the city. You may ask why? Well I'm the kind of girl who loves to shop. So if I lived in the country it wouldn't have malls and I would really hate that. It is too quiet for me in the city and I'm a very loud person so I like to be around loud people and areas.
If I had to choose between the city and the country, I would choose the city. I've been raised in the city and I depend greatly on technology for fun. I can't imagine what I would do in the country. It probably would be fun for the first week, getting used to every thing, but after a while I wouldn't know what to do.
I would like to live in city, because there are more people in city than country, beside we have all these technology and all the fun then who would want to give up all of these? So if I have to choose I will choose city.
If I had a choice whether to live in the country or city? I would live in the country because it is quiet and peaceful because there are no neighbors living next to you and I just wouldn't like to live in the city because there's so many people!!!!
I would like to live in the country instead of the city. I will live in the city because it is more peaceful and you can enjoy life more than in the city. The thing that I don't like in the city is that you always need to have precaution to places you go because sometimes there is a possibility you can go to a high crime area and have some kind of problems.
I would like to live in the city. Though living in the country sounds nice, living in the city sounds a little better. It is hard to explain but, sometimes I just want to get out of the house, and go to the town and just walk around. Plus it is where I grew up.
I think I would prefer living in the city to the country, but the country isn't all that bad either. The city is much more interesting and exciting than the country, but the country offers that peace and calm that the city lacks with all of the noise.
I would ten times better live in the city. For one thing I lived in the city my whole life so I don't really know the country. Another thing every time in a scary movie guess where in the setting is the country and the charcters always can't escape and then are killed. No way do I want to live in the country maybe in a couple of years but not now.
I totally agree with you! In the scary movies, like The Messengers, there's always ghosts and killer crows. In the city, it's always crowded, so it's less scary.
I disagree with both of you, I think that it's much safer in the country because those are small towns where most of the time everyone knows each other so there's less chance of having criminals there, unlike in the city were you can't even walk home without worrying of the dangers of being out by yourself. Besides everyone knows that horror movie are NOT real (with the exception of Saw and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, those are really scary and they could happen).
I would prefer to live in the country. I like the city; don't get me wrong I have lived in a city-like enviorment my whole life but I like the country for its enviornment, the peace and quite, the adventure, and the open space. I don't know If you have noticed but at night you can barely see the stars. When I had to go to Austin because of Rita, the first night I was there I could see the whole night covered in a soothing blanket of stars. I'm a very opened space person who likes time alone and in peace without all the routy noises, and never turning off lights.
I would prefer to live in the city, country is too rural for me. I like stores and technology. I also like the phone. In a country you are far away from any kind of civilization, in a city you can easily meet up with friends when you're bored. Those are some of the reasons for why I would rather be a city chick!
Everyone has their own opinions on where they would want to live. But if I had a choice I would live in the city. I would choose the city because it is more better. There are many stores, you have technology and you don't have to drive a long way to get to the store like you do in the country. Also in the city it doesn't get lonely, there are many people you can associate with, and in the country it gets boring because there is nothing to do. So if I had a choice on where to live I would choose the city.
The country is beautiful, but I could not live there all my life. Maybe to go on vacations for 3 or 4 months, but then I would have to return to the city. I love the city.
Personaly I would chose to live inthe city. I mean the country is nice but when you're really social the country is icky. Plus the city has things like shoping and when you're a teenage girl you absolutly love to shop... well Ido anyway (: but yeah city for me no country
Wow, I totally agree with the shopping statement! The city does have things like shopping and of course shopping is great! The city is a place for socializing and meeting new people so I see what you mean. I agree with your points! :]
If I had to choose I would rather live in the city. It would be easier to get resources and you wouldn't have to drive that much to find a store. The country would be very lonely and hard to make friends. In most horror movies happen in the country! It would be hard to communicate with other people, you probably won't have a signal for your cell phone! Living in the city would be the best choice because it is easier and technology is helpful.
Once again, horror movies are NOT real, and "you won't have a signal for you're cellphone"? You live in the city and YOU don't even have a cell phone, so of course YOU don't get a signal. And it's not any harder to communicate with
people in the country than in the city, you use your mouths the same way in both places, but I respect your opinion.
I can't really make up my mind because it's nice having all the staples of life right here in the big city but it would be nice to be out in the country and just kick back on your porch and strum your banjo. So I think it would be fun to live in the country with all the open land, less pollution and noise, now that would be nice! especially with some Bach playing in the background.
I prefer living in a city than a country because they have faster transportation, all the food you can eat and all the things you can buy. Despite having a large space to play or roam like the country, there can be amusement parks or carnivals in a city. You can get money and jobs faster in a city. Besides, there's no technology in the country, how will you talk on ur cell phone or play on the computer?
I would prefer the city because their are many different types of people to observe and meet. Also there are many things you can see and do as well as explore the complexity and intricate nature of the city. Although the country offers adventures too I still prefer the city.
If I had to choose between the city or the country i don't think I would be able to. I enjoy both the city and the country. I enjoy the city because you can meet new people everyday and interact with difrent cultures. Also everything is much more easy to aquire like your basic needs in everyday life.
In the country you enjoy the peaceful and relaxing aroma of the great and vast wilderness of the country.Experiencing the beauty of the wildflowers in the morning and not having the buzz of morning trafic
I would perfer to live in the city because the city is more exciting. The country is boring and nothing to do. The city has more things to do, they have malls and stores and just mostly everything that the country does not have. Who wouldn't want to live in the city?
If I had to decide whether to live in the country or in the city, I would probably choose the city. Living in the city is much more fun than living in the country for several reasons but just like there are good things about living in the city there are bad ones as well. In the city there are more places to go visit or go shopping. In the country there are not many places or people to hang around with. The city is more contaminated than the country but in the city you can find more things to do when you get bored. This is why I would rather live in the city not the country.
Terrific response Anahi the compare in contrast was very good. I totally agree with you even tough the city has a lot off disadvantages it also has its advantages.
Would you prefer to live in the city or in the country? I would definitely choose to live in the city rather than on the country, because out in the country there is less opportunity to succeed. Living in the city is my choice because the city will be crowded all day and night, and this way I will be able to talk to friends, or make new ones. The city is also filled with opportunity for the poor and for the rich. Although the country is quiet and peaceful for vacations, it is hard to make a living.
If I had the choice, I would choose to live in the city. Why you ask? Because of the many advantages there are. In a city, there is everything a girl will ever need. There are malls, parks, amusement parks, museum, tall buildings, movies, and more malls. To me, I think the city is more alive and active, while the country is quiet and calm. Although many people have different point-of-views, I’d prefer to live in a place where there is noise and excitement.
In the country, it is very simple and plain. There are hardly any technologies that teens need. For example, computer, phones, washing machine, dish washer, etc. Maybe it’s me, but I wouldn’t like it if I have to clean my clothes by hand. The country side may be nice for a vacation or something, but not to make it your official home.

If I had to choose i would defenetly choose city. You might be asking why? Well it is because there is way more things going on in the city. Not only sports and other stuff but street races. They are the best things that can happen in the city. You see Hondas, Acuras, other cars. Some are even muscle cars for example Mustangs Camaros, Chargers, and other cars. there are different kind of races like drag, drift any kind. Thats what makes city way better than country.
I would rather live in the city because even though the country is peaceful, there is more stufft to do in the city. Also, in the city you would have better educational oppurtunities than if you lived in the country.
I would like to live in the city because it is what I am used to.The country is peaceful and I see it as a place to go to relax but not live. The city is more commercial and there is more people and it is always something to do.On the other hand the country is calm and there is nothing to do.So I would like to stay in the city and live in it!
If I had to choose between the city life and the country life I would definitely choose the city life. I would not be comfortable in a quiet and alone place. I would rather be in a loud and full of people place such as the city.I would not survive in the country.
I would rather live in the city than in the country because the city has much more things for you, than the country does. Also there is a higher possibility that you will have much more interaction with people, make friends.
Would you rather live in the city or the country?
Although I love animals and a challenge, I think when I grow up I would have better friends and new ones too. I already sort of live in the city and I love it. I am able to find a job. I wouldn't like the country because of low population and you can't wear stilettos. I'd get too lonely and they probably have a really bad reception. I would not eat the animal's flesh so, what would I eat? I love the city because it's shiny and is surrounded by lights.
I would rather live in the country because that's where I grew up. Living in the country is peaceful
I would rather live in the city because it has more things to do. I will never get bored. Ive stayed in the country so I know how boring it gets. Plus, the city has a lot of restaurants
I would rather live in the city because they have a lot of job opportunities
I would like to live in the country. I would rather live there because I can adapt to the wildlife and it would be very peaceful and relaxing.
It's hard to decide because both places have great features, but I think that if I had to choose I would pick the country. I've never actually lived in the country, but I bet it's really fun. You can ride horses and stuff, and there're really big open fields where you can play soccer. Besides this way you don't have to worry about the polluted air or traffic or cops for that matter, because they usually only have one police station, so you won't get tickets that often and you save money. And if you get bored there is no reason why you can't take a little trip to the city, where you dont have to depend on anybody to have a good time. But if you live in the city it's hard to visit the country unless you have somebody who lives there to show you around. So I would rather live in the country.
That is a terrific response Minerva and I would have to agree with you on this
The place where you live doesn't really matter that much if you think about it, what matters most is those who you truly treasure. If I had to make a decision I would choose the city because that's where the people I care for reside. Besides I am not cut out for country work, and life there is way to predictable for me. It will be nice to live in the country though because e people there are more decent and well mannered than city people and way less drama. Here some people would go crazy over little non-important things, and that just irritates me. Even though life in the country sounds more pleasant I prefer to stay with the gold I have found.
In my opinion the legal age for a person to stare working is 14. Why? Most teenagers at that age whant to take responsibilty in their money, and in some cases their parents can't give them what they want, and by working they can earn what they desired.
I would rather live in the city, even though I love the country. The city has more opportunities and more places to go. The country is nice and peaceful, but I'm more city material.
If I had to choose between the city or the country, I would definitely choose the city. The country is nice and all, but Mexico is the closest thing I'll get to staying in the country. The city is fun, exciting, and crazy! I love crowds, tall skyscrapers, malls, and technology. I wouldn't leave the city for the country. I would die of boredom if I did.
I would rather live in the city, because the country doesn't have anything exciting. In the country you have to drive pretty far for any type of entertainment. The city has so many places to go,that you will go crazy from all the choices you have! Yes the country is peaceful and calming, but I've always lived in the city and I wouldn't change that for anything. I'm just a city girl and plan to stay one as long as I can!
The country and the city are two very different types of environment. There are some people who chose to live in the city and some who prefer the country. Personally, the city is for me. I have to be in an environment that has noise and places to hang out. I feel that the country is a perfect vacation place. I absolutely love the country, but I can only survive there for 3 months tops, maybe less. I always tend to come back to the busy streets and late night noises of the city. I am a person who can not be quiet for a long period of time so I have to be constantly moving. I might just feel this way because I am used to city life and I do not have the experience of actually living in the country. None the less, the city life is for me.
I would probably prefer to live in the city, even though it would be a very hard choice because I also love the country. It would be really hard for me to live in the country, especially because I'm used to living in the city. There are a lot of advantages in the city, than in the country. For example, there are limited resources of stuff that is easily found here. So, I would definetely choose the city.
